Your children are sure to shriek with excitement when they’re served creepy, curly hot dog worms for their Halloween meal.
Eleven years ago, I appeared on the CBS Morning Show on behalf of MyRecipes.com to share my favorite spooky Halloween recipes. One of the recipes was a spin on these Hot Dog Worms called Weiner Worms. Since then, I have made my own version of worm hot dogs every year as a fun and funny Halloween appetizer or meal. These are always a crowd favorite and a fun addition to any Halloween party! Not only do they taste amazing, they look even better on a Halloween spread.
When sliced lengthwise in half and then halved again into quarters, hot dogs can do magical things. For example, when you add heat from the cooktop or the grill they curl up to resemble worms. Even the color is spot on! Hot dog worms make a hilarious and equally creepy looking dish that’s sure to delight your kiddos and guests. My girls get a kick watching them move and curl in the skillet.
To serve your worms for a party, for dinner or even in a lunchbox, I like to offer a side of ketchup, barbecue and mustard. The hot dogs can be eaten alone or added to a slider or hot dog bun for a heartier meal.
Be sure to add this recipe to your party spread for a fun and festive Halloween!
The quickest, easiest recipe that’s sure to put smiles on everyone’s face, and regardless of your age. Whether it’s a spooky Halloween lunchbox snack or the perfect party food on Halloween night, try this spooky recipe and you’ll be sure to make it again!
