Light up your child’s school Christmas party with these adorable nut-free holiday class party snacks, treats and snacktivities.
My holiday classroom parties as a kid were full of nuts. Not my classmates — the treats! Remember the peanut butter cookies with the bonus Hershey’s kiss in the middle? A whole gingerbread house thatched with slivered almonds? Nothing seems to inspire nut-filled treats like time-honored holiday recipes, and those favorites were go-to options for parents and class moms everywhere until the dawn of nut-free classrooms.
If you’re a parent or room mom charged with bringing snacks for a nut-free classroom this Christmas, there’s no reason for you and the kids not to be as excited as ever. There are literally hundreds of clever nut-free holiday class party treats to discover. You can also easily adapt many favorites to leave out or substitute for the nuts. In other cookie or fudge recipes, you can often leave out the nuts or replace them with creative mix-ins like cranberries, crushed candy-canes or allergy-friendly sprinkles. Finally, why not get a little zany and invent your own? I’ve been tinkering with the girls this season to add new favorites to our nut-free holiday class party treat lineup, including some healthier options like adorable Bagel Snowmen and Celery Reindeer!
