As “foods on a board” continue to be the rage, I have leaned into this trend and have had more fun creating themed boards for my family such as burger boards, taco boards, sandwich boards and, of course, brunch boards.

Breakfast and Brunch Board Ingredient Ideas from ALDI
When planning which foods to include on a brunch and breakfast board, be sure to include a wide variety so that everyone enjoying it will be able to find something to eat. I like to plan a main component (which is usually a starch) such as pancakes, waffles, bagels or biscuits. From there, I think about what is needed to go with those foods such as syrup, preserves, butter, or powdered sugar. I also want to include a few sources of protein like breakfast sausage, bacon, boiled eggs and/or smoked salmon. A hard and soft cheese are always complimentary and, of course, fruit such as fresh berries are always a welcome ingredient.

How to Arrange Food on a Brunch Charcuterie Board
1. Step one: Select a board
Choose a board with a flat surface such as a serving tray or cutting board. Select the size of the board based on the food you’re serving and the number of people you’re serving. Because many breakfast foods tend to be larger such as croissants and pancakes, you may need to use a larger board than a traditional charcuterie board.
2. Step two: Place containers
Begin with any items in a bowl or container such as syrup, preserve or butter.

3. Step three: Place large food items
This would include foods such as croissants, toast, biscuits, waffles and/or pancakes.
4. Step four: Place cheese(s)
Include a mix of both hard and soft cheeses. Some favorites at brunch include Brie, goat cheese, and cream cheese as well as mozzarella and aged white cheddar.
5. Step five: Place meats and other proteins
Hard cooked eggs (peeled or unpeeled), smoked salmon, prosciutto, bacon, and sausage all make the cut on a brunch board.
6. Step six: Add fruits, veggies and nuts
Tuck fruit, veggies and nuts into open areas on the board.
7. Step seven: Add final touches
Tuck in garnishes, extra crackers, edible flowers and serving utensils.
