If you’ve followed my blog or social media for any time at all, you’ll know that we are BIG fans of ranch dressing – store bought or homemade. It is by far my favorite “vehicle food” that I have used over the years to help introduce the girls to vegetables. Because who doesn’t love to dip!

During the summer – if I haven’t killed all of my fresh herbs – I love to keep this super simple ranch dip on-hand for veggie, pizza, chips, chicken fingers, wings…pretty much anything that becomes better when ranch is added! It uses mayonnaise and plain Greek yogurt for a base then stirs in fresh parsley, dill, chives and garlic and lemon juice.

As written, the recipe yields a thicker, more “dip-like” consistency. However, if you prefer a thinner “dressing” for salad, simply stir milk or buttermilk into the recipe 1 tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired texture.

This dip is so good, you’ll want to keep a container in your refrigerator year-round!

Ingredients

1 cup mayonnaise

½ cup plain Greek yogurt

2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped

2 tablespoons fresh flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped

2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped

1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon salt

Assorted raw vegetables (ie. carrot sticks, cucumber slices, celery sticks, grape tomatoes, broccoli florets, endive leaves)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk until combined. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes in an airtight container to allow flavors to blend.
  2. While dip chills, arrange a variety of raw vegetables on a serving board. When ready to serve, pour dip into a small serving bowl and place in the center of the serving board.

Notes

Storage: Store dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Tip: For a thinner, dressing-like consistency, add milk or buttermilk 1 tablespoon at a time until desired texture is reached.
